We ❤️ Our Partners

CAP’s work has never existed in a vacuum — since that first day 15 years ago, we have always relied on partners who stand by our side in creating opportunities for first generation college-goers to navigate the often opaque road to college.

In recent years, we have increased interactions with parents, guardians, and family members, as their support is essential to student success. CAP’s Parent and Family engagement team serves parents with PUSD students from sixth grade through the transition to college and beyond. To better serve our populations, our programs are offered in both English without translation and Spanish.

We have been able to increase and enhance our services thanks to our district and community partnerships. We offer workshops in partnership with the Pasadena Education Network (PEN) and PUSD’s Family Resource Center; we provide family support to students in our after school program partnership with Stars; and, during the pandemic, we relied heavily on the partnership of Collaborate PASadena to provide virtual presentations and workshops. Thanks to our close relationships with PUSD, we are able to introduce ourselves to parents in PTSA, ELAC, DELAC, and other meetings for parents and families.

Just as students rely on their families’ support to realize their college dreams, CAP relies on our partners to bring essential college readiness resources to those families. We are so lucky to have deep ties to our Pasadena community, which enables us to reach more families than we ever could on our own and has allowed this program to increase its impact year over year.

In partnership with our community and district partners, our Parent Family Engagement team already has 15 events scheduled for this academic year. Sign up to receive information and updates on the following events and more:
