Mission
College Access Plan prepares underserved students to succeed in college.
History
Founded in 2006 by Kathleen Parent, a high school teacher, and Mo Hyman, a college instructor, College Access Plan’s core belief is that all students, regardless of
socio-economics, geography, or background, have the right to equal access to a college education. One of the main reasons students choose to forgo college is that they don’t know how to get there. At CAP, we enable student access to the tools necessary to successfully enroll in the college that is best suited for their individual needs.
At CAP, we understand that each student is a complete person with responsibilities and obligations, and it is our goal to create a program that best suits our unique students’ lifestyles. Through topic-specific workshops, one-to-one advisement, and long-term student cohorts, we empower students to believe that college preparation, too, is an important responsibility, and we provide resources to support their Big Dreams.
